Kids music-repetition and musical Learning

Mastering musical concepts often requires a lot of repetition. Repetition of patterns in songs amplifier content and storage of words and melodies. Because all children do not learn in the same way or with the same speed, is very iteration by using a variety of learning strategies is important. When planning replication strategies, they should be chosen with thoughtful consideration with a view to maximising the opportunity for learning. Meaningful learning and music-making experience is the result of well-thought out plans for teaching a song. Avoid worldly drill-like repetition. Add something new and engaging for each iteration. Do it again, but in a different way.

High repetition give the baby to develop an appreciation and enjoyment of a song or a musical selection.Repetition forces the memory of the listener, which lays the Foundation for the comparison of new musical material. Repetition means clarity and understanding of music and words.

Through repetition and multiple applications of their musical learnings improve children their ability to transfer new concepts with understanding from one musical setting to another.

Follow an orderly, sequential plan for high repetition.The process should include modelling, a feeling of positive tone and plenty of variety. Iterations should always be meaningful to the child.

When you use high iteration in a group setting, hold a vigorous pace to maintain interest and concentration of children. avoid long practice sessions, get them to become unfocused.

Examples of high iteration strategies include:
o Listens to the song and patting constant heart rate or beat;
o Echo-talk with a verse or a section of the music; words
o echo song melody on a nonsense syllable such as "la;"
o Singing song phrases antiphonally, e.g.parent/child; teacher/class;
o Select a repeating words from the song and have your child stand or raise his or her hand, when the word is sung.

When the song is learned, Sing the song leave out a few cues. Has the baby talk or sing missing words at an appropriate time in the song. then play or sing a song and have the child "draw" the melodic profile with his or her hand.

Let creativity and imagination be your guide in the planning of iterations of a song or a musical selection. Consider the use of Visual AIDS and movement in order to reinforce the concepts that repeats.

Using a diverse palette of iteration strategies brings freshness and excitement to the learning process; We are engineers, successful learning for our children through the use of creative and meaningful iterations.
